Spaceship

Finished spaceship model
The top 4 images show experimenting with the different shapes and positions and how they can be merged together on the MAYA software. I took screen shots from different positions showing how they sat on the grid.
I also started attempting to build objects and think of a spaceship to create. i like the donut shapes so i decided to add them into the spaceship.
My space ship is quite smooth at this point and stream lined, the nose of the ship flows from a point into the ship body.
I started with one ring then another larger one ontop as i think it looked better and more interesting like that. It also has a frame the support the two rings. It wasnt easy trying to get them level with eachother. I used button CMD with D and made a copy of the object so that made it a little easier.
I added 4 more donut shapes, 2 on either side to represent the jets/engine and then 2 near the nose to make a section for the crew to sit in and stear the ship.
I used the poke button on the software and that made me able to drag in/out and around the object to make it spike and change shape. I used this on the side donuts to give the ship a different kind of look.
I added in a floor and turned on the lighting to show a shadow affect on the spaceship and it makes it more realistic.

This is is is my rendered spaceship. To create this outcome with shadows I had to first create a flat surface underneath my object. Next I had to create the sunlight tool and render.
I like my final piece but next time I would make the flames larger on the sides of the engine. The colours are quite clean and flow well, but possibly needs some gold or a sharpe catching colour to make it stand out just a tad more.
